Goodridge: a bilingual WordPress website for industry and motorsport
Goodridge GmbH in Rastatt manufactures hose and pipe assemblies for vehicle manufacturers, motorsport, special-purpose vehicle construction and aviation. In autumn 2020, NK IT Service built the website of the group's German operation on WordPress. The site presents four business areas and is available in German and English.

Goodridge Deutschland
Goodridge GmbH, based in Rastatt, is the German arm of the Goodridge group, which was founded in 1969 in Totnes, Devon. The company makes fluid transfer systems: hose and pipe assemblies with fittings for fuel, oil, water, refrigerant and air. By its own account, the group produces at eleven sites worldwide and opened plants in Germany, among other countries, in 1988. Its customers include vehicle manufacturers, motorsport teams, private drivers and dealers.
The website organises the offering into four areas. ‘OEM’ addresses original equipment manufacturers – vehicle makers and their suppliers – with hoses, fittings and assemblies. ‘Performance’ covers high-performance hoses and pre-assembled stainless steel brake line kits for cars and motorcycles, while ‘Racing’ offers build-to-print manufacturing (production to the customer's drawings) and full-service support for race teams. The most detailed section is ‘Engineering’: lines made to drawing or sample, developed from sketch through 3D CAD (computer-aided design) to series production. The page backs this up with certificates to ISO 9001 (the quality management standard) and EASA Part 21G (approval as a production organisation for aviation).
Brief and build
In August 2020, goodridge.de still redirected to the group's website, goodridge.com (Internet Archive). With the new site, the Rastatt operation gained a web presence of its own: it presents the group's four business areas, shows the local engineering work – lines made to drawing or sample – in detail, and offers an English version, a download area for technical reports (Gutachten) and a contact form for enquiries.
NK IT Service built the site on WordPress in September and October 2020. It rests on the Astra theme (a theme is the design framework of a WordPress site) and the Elementor page builder (a tool for assembling layouts in the WordPress administration area), with Elementor Pro providing the slider (a rotating image panel) and the form; header and footer come from Elementor templates. We did not develop a bespoke theme for Goodridge. The home page opens with a full-screen slider and four tiles for OEM, Performance, Racing and Engineering, followed by the brand mission, the company history and a short ‘What we do’ section. Each area has its own page with a banner and image tiles. The Engineering page is the most detailed: a picture sequence walks through the production steps from CAD design via forming, pipe bending and pressure testing to measurement and dispatch, a list names the applications in vehicles and aviation, and the ISO 9001:2015 certificate and the approval issued by the German Federal Aviation Office (Luftfahrt-Bundesamt) are shown. The Gutachten page (technical reports) offers two documents as PDF downloads with preview images.
The English version lives under /en/ and is delivered through TranslatePress (an add-on that manages translations and serves the English pages under the /en/ address prefix). Both language versions are linked by hreflang tags (signals that tell search engines which language version belongs to which address). The contact form asks for name, e-mail address, subject and message; all four fields are mandatory.
