We settle two questions first: can the name be given over the phone without spelling it out – and which extension suits your business? Customers in Germany expect .de, .com carries an international presence, .eu signals a European focus. We then register the domain with you or your company as the owner. We only manage it.
A move consists of three parts: the name, the DNS records and the e-mail accounts. We put them in the right order so that website and mail keep running with as little interruption as possible.
You request the auth code from your current provider – depending on the provider it is called AuthInfo or a transfer code. It is the password that allows a domain to change provider. We tell you where to find it in your account and, if you like, draft the request for you.
With that code we apply to the registry for the transfer. .de domains usually move within a few hours, as a rule in under 24 hours. Extensions such as .com or .org allow a confirmation period of up to five days – the domain stays reachable throughout.
Before switching over we recreate every DNS record and mailbox identically at the new provider, move existing messages across and lower the caching time (TTL) beforehand. We only switch once both are in place – as a rule without any noticeable interruption for visitors or the people who write to you.
A transfer only moves the name. Website files, DNS records and mailboxes do not come along automatically – that is where most do-it-yourself moves fail. We handle all three parts, agree the timing with you and only cancel with the old provider once everything is running here.
The Domain Name System is the phone book of the internet: it translates your domain name into the address of the server that should answer. We look after these records for you – you do not need to understand a single one of them.

Changes take effect with a delay. Other servers remember old DNS entries for a set period (TTL) – anything from a few minutes to a day, depending on the setting. That is why we lower the TTL before planned changes and schedule the switch for a quiet time.
Three DNS records decide whether your messages land in the inbox or in the spam folder – and whether strangers can write in your name.
The SPF record names the servers that are allowed to send mail for your domain at all. Anything else is treated as suspicious by the recipient.
DKIM puts an invisible signature under every message. The recipient checks it against your DNS record and can tell whether anything was altered on the way.
DMARC tells the recipient what to do with messages that fail SPF and DKIM – and sends you reports on attempts to write in your name.

Without a certificate the browser warns visitors before they even see your page – and forms transmit data unprotected. We issue the certificate for your domain, include every spelling (with and without www), redirect old http addresses permanently to https and renew the certificate automatically before it expires.

Domain problems are rare, but when one appears it is urgent: mail is not arriving, the certificate is expiring, a provider will not hand over the auth code. What you need then is not a chatbot but someone who has your domain records in front of them and is allowed to change them.

The auth code – also called AuthInfo or a transfer code, depending on the provider – is the password that allows a domain to change provider. Without it nobody can transfer your domain, not even us. You request it from your current provider, usually in your account area; it is only valid for a limited time. Pass it on only to the provider you genuinely want to move to.
.de for customers in Germany, .com for international sites, .eu for the European market – for regional businesses .de is almost always the first choice. German users type .de when in doubt, so that is the one to secure first. It also makes sense to take the most important second extension and redirect it to your main address, so nobody else can occupy your name with a different ending.
That depends on the extension – we state it bindingly in our quote. A .de domain costs considerably less than special extensions, some endings cost many times as much, and for sought-after names the current holder sets their own price. Storage, mailboxes and a certificate belong to the domain as well. That is why we quote no list price here but add up what you actually need – with no hidden items.

Addresses and mailboxes stay as they are: we create them at the new provider and move existing messages across before the MX record is switched. Anyone writing to you in the meantime still reaches you. Only afterwards do we take the old mailbox offline. One thing matters: do not cancel the contract with the old provider beforehand, or mailboxes disappear before they have been copied.
A DNS record tells the internet which server is responsible for which part of your domain. The A record points to the website, the MX record to the mail server, and TXT records prove that messages really come from you.
