The marketing funnel

From first contact to customer

People drop out at every stage – which is why good marketing works on all four stages, not just on reach.

1

Visibility

Your target group sees you – in Google search, in the social feed or on the map. Without visibility no customer relationship ever starts.

Visitors

The right clicks instead of expensive wastage: suitable search terms, clean audiences and ads that deliver what the website shows.

Campaign management

Ad budget without wastage.

The biggest cost in online marketing is clicks from people who never become customers. So we set campaigns up tightly – by region, search term and audience – and keep checking which ad brings enquiries and which only burns budget. Every report shows you what a contact actually cost.

Channels at a glance

Which channel suits your business?

Not every channel pays off for everyone. Here is the honest assessment – who a channel makes sense for and what sort of figures to expect.

Google Ads

Ads shown exactly when someone is actively searching for what you offer – the most direct route to concrete enquiries.

Who forBusinesses whose services are actively searched for: tradespeople, service providers, practices, retailers.
CostClick prices are usually €1–5; a sensible entry point is around €300–500 of ad budget a month plus management.

Meta / Instagram

Reaches people who are not (yet) actively searching – strong for awareness, visual offers and recruiting staff.

Who forB2C businesses with something to show: restaurants, trades with before-and-after photos, retail.
CostOften from around €150–300 of ad budget a month (roughly €5–10 a day) plus management.

LinkedIn

Advertising in a business context: by sector, job title and company size – expensive per click, but very precise in B2B.

Who forB2B providers, consultancies, software, recruiting – when decision-makers are the target group.
CostClick prices are much higher than on Google; realistically from around €500 of ad budget a month.

Email marketing

The cheapest channel per contact: inform existing customers, win them back and remind them of the next job – GDPR-compliant.

Who forAny business with existing customers – from an online shop to a maintenance service.
CostTool costs are often under €50 a month; the main effort goes into setup and content.

Google Business Profile

Your entry in Maps and local search – with reviews, photos and opening hours, often the first impression of your business.

Who forAny business with a local catchment area in Rastatt and the region – essential.
CostThe profile itself is free; the effort goes into setup, upkeep and review management.

Retargeting

Reminds visitors who left your website without enquiring – most people do not decide on first contact.

Who forWebsites with regular visitors and services that are more expensive or need explaining.
CostA small additional budget, often from around €100 a month – alongside Google or Meta Ads.

All cost figures are non-binding guide values from practice – the real numbers depend on your sector, region and competition. Ad budgets are paid directly to the platform; our management fee is shown separately and transparently.

Social media advertising

Advertise where your customers scroll.

Many of your future customers are not searching at all yet – they scroll through Instagram or Facebook in the evening. That is exactly where social media advertising makes your business known: limited to your region, with real pictures from your working day instead of interchangeable stock photos. And we say so honestly: for immediate enquiries Google Ads is usually stronger – social ads build the awareness that turns into work later on.

Marketing knowledge

The key questions – answered clearly

Explained in plain language, without jargon – for people and for AI search engines such as ChatGPT & Google AI.

What?What is online marketing?

Online marketing covers every activity a company uses to win customers over the internet – from Google Ads and social media advertising through to e-mail marketing. The decisive difference from classic advertising: every euro can be measured down to the individual enquiry. That way budget flows into the channels that demonstrably bring in work.

What?What does Google Ads cost?

With Google Ads you pay per click – usually between 1 and 5 euros depending on the sector; for regional businesses an entry budget of around 300 to 500 euros a month is realistic. Agency management comes on top of that. More important than the size of the budget is control: what does an enquiry cost, and what is it worth to you? All figures are non-binding guide values.

What?Difference between SEO and Google Ads?

Google Ads buys immediate visibility for a price per click, while search engine optimisation (SEO) builds lasting unpaid visibility. Ads take effect within a few days but stop when the budget does. SEO takes months, then lasts. For most businesses the combination is the most economical: ads in the short term, SEO built up alongside.

Which?Which channel suits my business?

If your service is actively searched for – trades or repairs, for example – Google Ads is usually the fastest route; if your offer lives on images and awareness, Meta ads are stronger; B2B topics run through LinkedIn. Local businesses also need a Google Business Profile. To start with, a single well-managed channel is often enough.

How?How quickly does paid advertising work?

Ads are usually live within a few days and bring the first visitors – reliable results appear after four to eight weeks of optimisation. The platforms need a learning phase to show your ads to the right people. So judge a campaign not after three days, but after the first rounds of optimisation.

How?How do I measure whether advertising pays off?

What counts is the cost per enquiry in relation to the value of a job – not clicks or reach. Conversion tracking counts enquiries and calls per channel. If an enquiry costs 12 euros (example figure) and a job brings in several hundred, the campaign pays for itself – and you see that in every monthly report from us.

Frequently asked questions

Online marketing – briefly explained

How much ad budget do I need as a small business?
For local Google Ads campaigns, 300 to 500 euros of ad budget a month is often a sensible start; on Meta, 150 to 300 euros can be enough – these are non-binding guide values, not fixed prices. We prefer to start small and controlled and only increase spend where the figures show that it pays off.
What is the difference between ad budget and management fees?
The ad budget goes directly to Google, Meta or LinkedIn – that is what pays for your ads to run. The management fee covers our work: setup, ad copy, ongoing optimisation and reporting. We show both separately so you always know where your money goes.
How quickly will I see first results?
Ads are usually live after a few days and bring the first clicks. Reliable statements about the cost per enquiry are possible after four to eight weeks, because the platforms need a learning phase and we optimise during that time. Anyone promising you instant top results is not being honest.
Do I have to commit to a long contract?
No. We work without lock-in contracts. Campaigns should run for a few months so they can be optimised – but you are not tied in for years. Case studies has to prove itself through results, not through contract clauses.
Can I not simply run Google Ads myself?
Technically yes – Google deliberately makes it easy to start. In practice, self-built accounts often burn budget: search terms that are too broad, missing negative keywords, no conversion tracking. If you already advertise yourself, we are happy to review your account and tell you honestly whether and where money is being lost.
Is social media advertising worth it for trades businesses?
It depends: for immediate jobs Google Ads is usually stronger, because people search there actively. For tradespeople, social ads pay off above all for awareness, visual trades (before-and-after work, for example) and recruiting staff. We only recommend channels that fit your goal.
Do you produce the content and images as well?
Yes. On request we create copy, graphics, photos and video – including professional drone footage. That way you do not have to produce content yourself and get everything from a single source.
How can I tell whether the marketing pays off?
Through clean, GDPR-compliant tracking. We measure enquiries, calls and sales per channel and show you in monthly reports what an enquiry cost. That way you see in black and white whether the investment pays off – and we optimise towards exactly that.
What happens if I stop advertising?
Paid visibility ends with the budget – that is the honest drawback of ads. So we recommend building long-term channels alongside: SEO, a Google Business Profile and an e-mail list. Your ad account belongs to you, by the way, not to us – you stay independent.
Do I need a new website before advertising is worthwhile?
Not necessarily – but the landing page decides whether expensive clicks turn into enquiries. If it loads slowly or lacks a clear call to action, the budget evaporates. Often a single optimised landing page is enough instead of a complete rebuild. We check that before the start and tell you honestly.
