conSWK, Baden-Baden: a coaching website with its own WordPress theme

Dr. phil. Sabine Wegner-Kirchhoff works as a psychologist (Diplom-Psychologin), coach and mediator in Baden-Baden and across Germany, with a focus on healthcare. For conSWK we took on the concept, web design and programming: a bespoke WordPress theme (the design framework for every page) rather than a page builder, with a spam-protected contact form and no cookie banner. www.conswk.com has been live since September 2026.

conSWK – Dr. phil. Sabine Wegner-Kirchhoff

conSWK stands for consulting, coaching and mediation by Dr. phil. Sabine Wegner-Kirchhoff in Baden-Baden. A psychologist, family therapist and certified mediator, she counsels individuals, couples and families and supports organisations with leadership questions, team development, change processes and conflict. She brings 30 years of experience in organisational consulting and in 2017 published the Springer volume “Konfliktcoaching in Organisationen” (conflict coaching in organisations). She sums up her stance in three words: empathetic, attentive, respectful.

For the past 15 years her focus has been healthcare. She coaches senior hospital doctors, nursing and administrative managers and leadership teams – from university hospitals and municipal hospitals to medical practices. As a mediator in hospitals she mediates in conflicts between disciplines, between professional groups, or between medical and administrative staff. Her guiding principle runs through the whole website: “Es gibt immer einen Weg.” (There is always a way.)

Brief and build

An earlier website was already running at conswk.com. Our brief covered the concept, design, programming and technical maintenance of the new site; the texts, articles, case studies and the portrait were supplied by the client herself. The concept arranges three audiences without diluting the healthcare focus and leads every path to the initial consultation via the contact form – with no third-party servers and no cookie banner.

We programmed the theme specifically for conSWK. The design line is called “Editorial”: calm pages carried by typography, set in the serif face Fraunces and the sans-serif Manrope, both served as variable fonts (one file per typeface covering every weight) from the site's own server. The home page leads from the portrait and the headline “Kompetenz, die Nähe schafft.” (competence that creates closeness) past key figures and six cards to the sub-pages, ending at the contact block with its form. The sub-pages for services, healthcare, case studies and FAQ contain not a single image and rely on typography alone.

Technically the site stays lean: no page builder (a drag-and-drop extension for WordPress), one stylesheet (the design rules), one script. That script handles the scroll progress bar, mobile navigation, tabs, reveal effects, counters, parallax and the ticker, and follows the system setting “reduce motion”. The form, the privacy notice and the navigation live in the theme itself rather than in plugins (add-on modules); the source code loads none at all. The contact form puts five hurdles in the way of automated submissions without an external captcha service: an arithmetic question, a honeypot (an invisible field only machines fill in), a nonce (a verification key proving the request came from the site itself), a timestamp with checksum and a rate limit per IP address, which according to the privacy policy is stored only as a hash value (a check value that cannot be traced back) for at most one hour. The portrait is delivered as WebP (a modern, compact image format) with a JPG fallback.

Privacy is part of the build, not a plugin bolted on afterwards: the website sets no analytics or advertising cookies and loads nothing from third-party servers. Instead of a cookie banner, a notice box therefore appears with the sentence “Hier gibt es nichts zuzustimmen.” (there is nothing here to consent to), which the browser remembers locally (localStorage, a store inside the browser that works without cookies). A skip link to the content (a help for keyboard and screen-reader users), labelled navigation (ARIA attributes that tell screen readers what an element does) and WordPress's own sitemap (a page index for search engines) round off the build.

What we built for conSWK

  • Bespoke WordPress theme conSWK: no page builder, one stylesheet, one script, no plugin in the source code
  • Contact form in the theme: arithmetic question, honeypot, nonce, timestamp with checksum, rate limit per IP address
  • No cookie banner: no analytics or advertising cookies, no third-party servers, a notice instead of consent
  • Fonts and images: Fraunces and Manrope hosted locally, portrait delivered as WebP with JPG fallback
  • Reduced motion: reveal effects, counters and parallax follow the system setting
  • Accessibility and SEO: skip link, ARIA labels and WordPress sitemap
