KleWaTec, Rastatt: an irrigation specialist with its own WordPress theme

Ten pages organise what KleWaTec GmbH offers: four service areas, a project gallery, team and history, contact and legal pages. Design and programming came from us, as did technical implementation, operation and hosting. Three requirements show in the source code: no page builder, no third-party servers on page load, and a contact form that lets enquiries through and turns spam away.

We programmed the theme specifically for KleWaTec. The design concept is called “Die Wasserlinie” (the waterline): the drop and wave from the logo become a continuous green line, content sits in sectors with sharp edges, and there are no rounded corners. The site is set in the serif face Domine and the sans-serif Onest, both served as woff2 (a compressed web font format) from the site's own server and preloaded in the page head. The home page leads from the hero image with sprinklers past the four areas, key figures and the four-step process to the contact call-out; the projects page shows 25 images from three jobs in a lightbox (an enlarged view in the same window) with keyboard controls.

All ten pages live as fixed templates in the theme, including page titles, descriptions and structured data; on activation the theme creates the pages itself. There is no page builder (a drag-and-drop extension for WordPress), the source code loads no plugin script, and all interaction – the navigation drawer, reveal effects, lightbox and map release – sits in a single script without libraries. Images are delivered as WebP (a modern, compact image format), the hero image in two sizes with high loading priority, everything else only when scrolled into view. The theme processes the contact form itself and protects it without a captcha service: a nonce (a verification key proving the request came from the site itself), a honeypot (an invisible field only machines fill in), a time trap (forms submitted too quickly count as automated) and a rate limit (a cap on enquiries per sender address). Privacy consent is a mandatory field checked on the server.

The site needs no cookie banner: it sets no analytics or advertising cookies and loads nothing from third-party servers on page load – fonts, images and scripts all come from its own server. The Google Maps map on the contact page appears only after a click on “Karte von Google Maps laden” (load the Google Maps map – a two-click solution); until then no data flows to Google. For search engines every page carries structured data (JSON-LD, a machine-readable data block in the source code): the company as a local business with address, logo, a service catalogue of the four areas and eight countries served, plus complete Open Graph tags (the preview shown when a link is shared) and WordPress's own sitemap. A skip link to the content, visible labels on every form field, a keyboard-operable navigation and respect for the system setting “reduce motion” are part of the basic build.
