LED Service: bespoke WordPress theme and plugin for intralogistics servicing

After the group was split up in 2026, the service division got its own website. Readable from the finished site: the same design language and technology as its sister sites, but its own colour, content and four service groups – maintenance, inspections, service & documentation and staffing. It addresses operators of intralogistics systems, plant and equipment manufacturers, companies that need staff and job applicants; statutory subjects such as DGUV V3 and DIN EN 15635 get pages of their own.

NK IT Service programmed the site as a bespoke WordPress theme: “LED Theme”, a dark design in the group's corporate colours (red, green, blue, grey). A brand switch inside the theme sets which company is displayed – LED Service appears in blue, its three sister brands in their own colours, all on the same code. The theme works without a page builder; according to the theme header, concept, code, copy and design are all by NK IT Service. The layout includes a mega menu (a multi-column drop-down) with the four service groups, a hero slider (rotating header images) with five images on the home page and breadcrumb navigation (a path indicator) on the sub-pages.

The bespoke plugin “LED Site Bootstrap” controls the theme and supplies what all four websites share: the hero images (the large header pictures) for the service pages, the partner logos, the map preview for the location and the cookie banner. Cookie consent is an in-house build with a banner and a settings window in two categories (necessary, external maps); Google Maps only loads after a click on “Load map”, and until then a locally stored preview image is shown. The contact form likewise does without a form plugin: it submits to WordPress via AJAX (transferring data in the background without reloading the page) and protects itself with a one-time security token (nonce), an arithmetic question that changes on every call and a hidden honeypot field that only automated programs fill in. The Open Sans typeface is hosted locally; there are no external CDNs (third-party delivery servers) and no trackers (scripts that follow visitors).

The site comprises 19 pages and four blog posts in the “Aktuelles” (news) section; its ten service pages, arranged in four groups, run to roughly 530 to 730 words each and include an FAQ section. Every page carries its own title and description, Open Graph and Twitter Card data (the preview shown when a link is shared) and a canonical link (the declared main address). Structured data to the Schema.org standard (machine-readable information for search engines) describes the website, the business, the services, the FAQs and the breadcrumb path; a custom sitemap.xml (a page index for search engines) and a robots.txt (a guidance file for search engine crawlers) complete the set-up. The photographs come from Adobe Stock and are credited individually in the site notice; NK IT Service removed the WordPress version marker from the source code.
